A mysterious Twitter account based out of San Francisco is running a city-wide scavenger hunt where the prizes are all cold, hard cash. The account, @HiddenCash, lets its followers know that a hint about a "drop" (a cash drop) is coming:

Then tweets the hint about the location of the cash, and the chase is on:

Until one lucky user finds the money:

The person behind @HiddenCash is a real estate millionaire, who hopes to continue the experiment indefinitely (but more likely until someone doxxes them.) While they note that they donate to charities in the traditional sense, they wanted to create Hidden Cash as a form of "pay it forward." They have said a recent business deal (a particular lucrative house flip), "caused me quite a bit of reflection. I am determined to give away some of the money I make, and in addition to charity, to do it in fun, creative ways like this."

For now, the experiment is in full force and people are coming forward as recipients of the cash through Twitter. The account now has 56,000 followers waiting for the next clue.
