The Internet has a number of metrics for judging the value of creative content: page views, links, reader comments, "Diggs," "Likes," etc. But if we just valued the raw numbers, cat videos and wardrobe malfunctions would be all we had. Luckily, there's the annual Webby Awards honoring the "year's best work in Websites, Interactive Advertising, Online Film & Video and Mobile." Today, the nominees were announced and we were keenly interested in the comedy category since it's often quite edgier than the standard fare on network and cable television. This year didn't disappoint with strong viral videos from The Onion, Funny or Die and College Humor all nominated for best "individual short or episode." You can vote today through April 28th here.
