Our national crisis is over — Hillary Clinton called President Obama Tuesday to say she totally didn't mean to "attack him" about that whole Syria thing. "Like any two friends who have to deal with the public eye, she looks forward to hugging it out when she they see each other tomorrow night,” reads a statement sent to Politico

Following Clinton's candid comments published over the weekend, there's been some serious analysis over what that means for her foreign policy agenda as a potential 2016 candidate. More importantly, there's been a lot of discussion on how awkward it will be when they see each other in Martha's Vineyard this Wednesday. The statement, sent by a Clinton spokesman, makes it clear that while the two have their differences, people are just trying to start drama. "Some are now choosing to hype those differences," reads the statement, "but they do not eclipse their broad agreement on most issues."

Earlier today the White House also tried to diffuse the situation. After Politico's report on the potentially awkward party, a White House official told CNN “the President and First Lady are very much looking forward to the occasion and seeing Former Secretary Clinton.” We're looking forward to the photo of them hugging it out.
