Despite "birther queen" Orly
Taitz's electoral defeat, the birther
movement remains an obnoxious cousin to the conservative revival,
and infuriating right-wingers. Steven Colbert took
the opportunity to mock the movement on last night's Colbert
Report during a segment devoted to the fleeting appearance of an Obama doppelgänger
in the 1993 music video for Tag Teams' "Whoomp
(There It Is)." A man who purportedly looks like the president appears at 1:01.
In typical fashion, Colbert offered Obama sage advice in addressing the video, which has been circulating in the blogosphere. "All he needs to do is order the state of Hawaii to release his official government rap certificate."
