During the Senate's contentious health care debate, Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman infuriated liberals for his determined -- and successful -- stand to block many measures of the legislation. Lieberman ultimately voted for reform, but only after his personal obstruction resulted in the deaths of the public option and the Medicare buy-in. Sen. Lieberman left many
with the impression that he is very willing to say no. Liberals may
find some relief in this comedy group's skewering of Lieberman, which
he blocks everything from a drain pipe to a football to an artery:
A plumber tells a woman of her clogged pipe, "It's that politician guy. We've been getting a lot of this lately. We could try to reason with him, but that usually makes things worse." Later, an attempt by a staffer for Speaker Nancy Pelosi to kill Lieberman is met with an unusual end.
