Media and political watchers were somewhat stunned today to learn that Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton reportedly makes up to $75,000 per speaking engagement.

Her spokesperson, Kamyl Bazbaz was quick to stress the majority of Ms. Clinton's speaking engagements were in association with the family's Clinton Foundation, and the money goes directly that cause. Clinton's speeches "are on behalf of the Clinton Foundation, and 100 percent of the fees are remitted directly to the foundation,” Bazbaz told the New York Times

However, she does appear to be following closely in her parents' footsteps. Hillary Clinton reportedly makes a minimum $200,000 for a speech, and together Bill and Hillary Clinton have made over $100 million in the last decade. The former Secretary of State has recently faced criticism for comments about her and her husband's post-White House wealth, with many wondering if her exorbitant speaking fees make her out of touch with the American people, ahead of an increasingly likely run for the Presidency in 2016.

Meanwhile, former prominent politicians (including Jeb Bush, Colin Powell, and Madeline Albright) reportedly net significantly less than the 34-year-old Clinton, who has never held a public office. According to the New York Times, Bush makes an average of $50,000 per speech.

Clinton, who recently left her $600,000 job at MSNBC for a month-to-month position, has taken an increased role with the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation, speaking across the country on issues from epidemic disease to women's rights. Some have suggested that she may be practicing for a future political run. Either way, it looks like Chelsea Clinton will have a lucrative career to fall back on.
