We always knew the creeps had it coming. The British Psychological Society reports that men who flirt at work, (also known as sleaze balls) tend to be less satisfied at their job. The study, out of University of Surrey, asked 201 participants to fill out their behaviors at work as well as their job satisfaction. It found that flirting at work was negatively related to job satisfaction for men, but, there was no significant relationship between flirting and job satisfaction for women.
The study doesn't clarify if men dislike their work environments because of the mass rejection they likely receive on the prowl, or if they resort to flirting instead of filling out spreadsheets. The lead researcher, Chadi Moussa, says this disproves someone's preconceived notion that office creeping can get you places. "If men are feeling unsatisfied in their roles, then they may resort to flirting to keep them entertained and this would partially explain the negative relationship. While flirting can have benefits, excessive flirting at work may be a sign that you’re unsatisfied with your job or simple bored."
