In a somber statement, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak told reporters that based on new analysis, the final destination for MH370 was a remote part of the Indian Ocean:

The PM explained that new information from the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) and Inmarsat, the British company that issued the satellite data used to narrow the search to two corridors, revealed that the flight almost certainly terminated in the Indian Ocean.
