The conflict in Gaza and Southern Israel may finally be coming to a halt, but eight days of violence have left behind a trail of destruction and death all too familiar to the region. This latest escalation, expertly covered by journalists and citizens alike, also left incredible images like never before. And while the photos of destruction may have been heartbreaking, they were stranger still over the last day or so: beyond negotiations over a ceasefire were the parallel stories of rocket attacks from both sides, of the tragic deaths of Palestinian children, of the brutal executions of suspected spies, and, then, of this morning's Tel Aviv bus bombing.
