Greek authorities say one person has died during protests against the government's new austerity measures, reports the AP. The report does identify the person nor give details of how he or she died. But reports from the protests have painted a picture of rising violence. The Telegraph reports that "hooded youths threw molotov cocktails and smoke bombs at other protesters" and adds that, "Police did not intervene in the beginning, but later pushed back the hooded youths, firing tear gas." In May of 2010, there were at least three deaths in protests against the government.
