We have been following royal headline fatigue for a while now, but now we have numbers to back it up. It turns out that it's the American media really is overdoing it. According to Nielsen, media coverage of the wedding in the United States has outpaced Britain and Australia. As Reuters explains, the royal wedding has been the subject of 0.2 percent of all news stories in online versions of newspapers and magazines in the United States, while only 0.08 percent in the U.K. At its peak following the announcement of the couple's engagement in November 2010, the royal wedding accounted for 0.31 percent of coverage in the United States, again dwarfing the 0.19 percent in the U.K.
