The post-Tom Cruise divorce Katie Holmes career revival is in full swing, and Ms. Holmes is headed back to the medium that made her: television.
The former Joey Potter has been cast as one of the leads in an untitled show—deemed a "high society drama" by Jake Perlman at Entertainment Weekly—from Richard LaGravenese, who wrote Behind the Candelabra. Holmes will play Ann, who is the target of another couple who made a bet to destroy Ann's marriage. Rufus Sewell has also been cast in the pilot as the male member of the nefarious couple trying to hurt poor Katie.
Katie's having a pretty good week. Yesterday, the Tribeca Film Festival announced her film Miss Meadows, in which she plays a teacher, as part of its lineup. But really, TV is probably the place for Holmes, and we didn't even hate Pieces of April.
