Certain details of noted "humasexual" Morrissey's autobiography have apparently been edited out of or downplayed in the U.S. version, the most glaring of which concern the Smiths singer's two-year relationship with photographer Jake Walters.

According to WENN, many of the details of the relationship, which was first confirmed when the book was published by Penguin Classics in the U.K., are missing or substantially truncated in the American version. Among the revisions, "A photograph of Walters as a boy has also been removed, and his name has been cut out of a story detailing a night out with The Pretenders star Chrissie Hynde."

The American publisher, Penguin subsidiary G.P. Putnam's Sons, has not yet addressed the revisions or why they felt the book needed to undergo them. The famously outspoken Morrissey also has not mentioned the changes.
