It's day three of the shutdown, and instead immediately tearing into conservatives a third night in a row, Jon Stewart apologized for all the names he's called Republicans on the show.
"Look, I may have, over the past few days leading up to and through the government shutdown, thrown around some rather derisive terms to describe those in Congress who have decided not to fund the government because of a passed law they don't like went into effect," he said. Some of the insults he used may have been "idiots," "dunderheads," and "morons." In fact, he pulled out a "Names For Republicans" binder.
"I may have referred to them as fart-knockers," he added. "Babies. Babies who eat their own poop. Babies who eat their own poop and then poop out that poop and then hold up that poop and yell, you again!" The list goes on, but after a few moments he turned to the camera and said he wanted to say sorry.
"My point is, I'd like to apologize," Stewart said, "because I realize I've been way too easy on them."
