Update: The nominations are here. Nine movies were nominated for Best Picture, including Lincoln, which took 12 nominations, the most of any film, followed by Life of Pi with 11 and Les Misérables with eight. All the supporting actor nominees have won before. The Academy left out Kathryn Bigelow and Ben Affleck from a Best Director category that has people talking snubs, and Beasts of the Southern Wild appears to be the darling everyone expected.
