On The Daily Show last night, Jon Stewart calls out the beef's industry's public-relations spin on "lean, finely textured beef," a classy name given to a classless beef byproduct everyone else is calling "pink slime." ABC News reported this month that the ammonia-treated beef trimmings are added to 70 percent of ground beef, a statistic that grosses out Stewart, who like any red-blooded American still loves his red meat -- even though the closing of the beef trimming factories in the wake of the report has caused hundreds of job losses. So who better for him to interview than an anthropomorphic cheeseburger?
