Bad news Al Ruddy--Arnold Schwarzenegger's not going to be making Cry Macho anytime soon. In a statement released Thursday afternoon, the embattled former governor announced he was putting his big-screen comeback 'on-hold' to focus on 'personal matters,' by which he means this. The full statement:

"Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines. This includes Cry Macho, The Terminator franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides."

The announcement comes a day after producer Ruddy predicted the scandal would turn out to be "one of those things no one will remember" and that filming would begin in August as scheduled on Cry Macho, the horse-trainer-turned-reluctant-kidnapper project the actor had targeted as his live action comeback project. That's obviously not going to happen. Notably absent from the statement is an update on the Governator, Schwarzenegger's new superhero property. Production is already underway on an animated series featuring the character.
